Bet Acceptance
As we offer a Request A Bet service (RAB) - an email is sent out when bets are accepted or declined. Where bets have been declined, a reason for this will be given. We cannot be held responsible for any email, accepting or declining a bet, not received by the customer. All bets are also listed under ‘My Bets’ in your Greatbet account. We do not consider acceptance of the bet reliant on the customer receiving an acceptance email, as the bet acceptance is also listed in your account.
We reserve the right to refuse or void any bet received after the ‘off’, the onus is on the customer to allow sufficient time for the bet to be requested and processed.
Telegram Rules and Terms & Conditions
Confirmation Message & When is a Bet Considered Struck?
If customers chooses to Telegram their bets to us, then they understand that Greatbet may choose to refuse bets (or part of the bets) at their discretion. Customers may not always receive a text confirmation back before the start of the event. Greatbet rules consider the bet to be struck when we reply to your message with a Bet Confirmation Message. If customers do not receive a Bet Confirmation Message before the start of an event, then the responsibility is with the customer to check their Account under My Bets.
In the event that the customer fails to receive our Bet Confirmation Message ‘Your wager has been confirmed’, Greatbet will demonstrate to the customer that the bet confirmation message was sent either before, or at the start of the event via the digital timestamp which Telegram provide.
We do not recommend betting by Telegram when close to the event start time and ideally, we advise customers not to Telegram their bets to us within 2 mins of the advertised start time.
Deleted Messages
Our bet confirmation message’ is the final confirmation and the bet is considered as placed by all parties. In the event of you deleting your message, our bet confirmation message will confirm the bet has been struck and placed via our system.
Deleting messages is strictly prohibited. If we believe you are deleting messages to gain an unfair advantage or cheat the system then we will ban your account from this service.
Betting with Available Funds
Bets placed by Telegram must be staked appropriately within the customers available funds. If you have insufficient funds for the bet request, we will proportion the stake accordingly e.g. £10 Each Way requested, £15 in balance = £7.50 EW would be struck. It is the customers responsibility to be aware of their available funds and can request a balance directly from Telegram at any time.
Late Bets
Bets received after the off of the event will be considered void and will not stand regardless of when the Telegram was sent. The time on our phone system, powered by Telegram will state the time that we received the text. If it is after the official start time of an event, the bet will be void. If Greatbet chooses to accept a late bet we will make the customer aware that the bet has been struck during the event.
Security
It is your responsibility to ensure the security of your mobile phone and Telegram account. Other than where Greatbet has been negligent, we will not be liable for any loss that you may incur as a result of misuse or unauthorised use of your mobile phone number or account with us, whether fraudulent or otherwise.
Palpable Errors
As all bets are processed manually, it is possible that errors occur due to our systems, data feed or staff.
